Alternatively, you can hire a design and construction company to handle every step of the process from start to finish. Design-build Remodeling integrates two key elements of the project: design and construction.

Our team consists of designers and builders working together to complete a remodeling project faster and better, and to integrate the workflow from the initial concept to the completion of the project. This means that the teams are working together to realize the vision.

We believe it is very important to know and understand your general design philosophy. After all, our customers live and know better than anyone else in their homes. The first meeting with a homeowner always begins with learning about their home goals and priorities. Homeowners know how they live in their homes and can provide important insights into what makes their lives functional and emotional.

In our experience, the client’s first general design idea is developed through our design process and enhanced by our design team. So don’t be shy to share your ideas for remodeling projects. However, it can be difficult to explain a design idea to a designer. Our first recommendation is to create a lookbook with designs, appliances, floors, paint colors, or anything else you find attractive. You can use an online platform such as Houzz or Pinterest to create a lookbook, or you can consider how to crop a photo from a magazine. This will help us understand your design aesthetics that we can use to design your dream home.

We have an experienced team of in-house designers who offer incredible designs at almost half the cost of an architect. We also have an excellent in-house team to manage interior choices, ensuring that your project has a consistent style, timeless tested materials, and a personalized look.

Planning and construction costs vary widely depending on the size and scope of the project. The three biggest factors that determine the cost of a project are existing conditions, finish quality, and time frame. Throughout the project period, we consider ourselves “budget guardians”. At the end of the feasibility phase, create an allowance-based estimate to keep your vision within your budget.

Once the project selection is made, you will receive an offer from the subcontractor during pre-construction. This will give you an accurate fixed-price contract for construction.

Design is a complex process. Each project depends on the existing structure, order size, and customer needs and needs. We spend time with our clients during the design process to understand the costs associated with the project. We will also identify the options you may choose in the future and do our best to include the prices of those options in the list.

When you make a contract with a customer, you usually keep the contract price. Take the time to discuss the details of the project to make sure the costs are correct. If the homeowner makes additional work or changes to the project, this can be an additional charge, but the designer will discuss the new changes before the charges are incurred. There is a problem behind the walls and other areas that can affect the price. It is a standard construction recommendation to allow 10% extra cushion to your budget.

EDI will take you through each stage of our design and construction processes with precision and care:

Consultation (1 day): We will walk through your home/ site with you to hear about your vision for your space.  

Feasibility : In this phase, we will work with you to put together a design for your building that fits your wants, needs, and dreams for your space while also assessing how that aligns with your proposed budget and sign the Design Agreement.

Pre-Construction : You can finally see it – the home of your dreams is detailed. Refining your project is the next exciting phase of bringing your design to life and truly creating a place that you will love to call home.

Build (5-9+ months): During construction, we will meet with you regularly to see the design as it is being built and keep you informed of the building progress to ensure that your dream home is realized as imagined.

We use a web-based project management system that displays your project plans and the choices made. It also connects communication between you and our project team. Once construction begins, there will be weekly scheduled on-site meetings to check progress, answer questions, and keep things going.

Our process allows our design teams and homeowners to consider design options and understand many details before construction begins. All the details are documented and clarified in our construction drawings, so we can offer you a construction contract at a fixed price.

If changes are needed, whether by customer request or unexpected circumstances, this can easily be done with a standard variation order. Customers are encouraged to make minimal changes to avoid project delays and cost overruns.
